Hello, I am so sorry that I had to cancel class. Next week we will be getting into DNA and how it is used to determine traits. This video discusses a relatively new area of study in the area of DNA called epigenetics. Epigenetics allows for genes to be imprinted, turned on and off and controlled like a light is by a dimmer switch with the addition and deletion of chemical tags. Even more interesting is that we can control these chemical tags so it is a way that our behaviors and environment can change the expression of DNA and more importantly the DNA expression of our children and grandchildren. It is a fascinating area of genetic study.
A. Watch the video- Ghost in Your Genes on Vimeo (vimeo.com/248146854) B. Post a response to the video by 11/18. You do not need to respond to peers unless you want to.
